Sebenarnya pembahasan ini rumit tapi coba kita sederhanakan. Apakah kerja keras itu yang mendatangkan rejeki kita? Jawabnya tidak. Rejeki dan kerja keras itu beda jalur, tidak berhubungan linear. Rejeki adalah ketetapan (pemberian) Allah seperti umur kita yang sudah ditetapkan. Sedangkan kerja keras adalah amal shalih atau amal ibadah kita kepada Allah. Bekerja keras bukan penentu jumlah rejeki kita kecuali apa yang telah ditetapkan oleh Allah. Lalu apa gunanya kita kerja keras? Dengan bekerja keras akan menambah amal shalih dan ibadah kita tapi bukan mengubah ketetapan rejeki kita. Bekerja keras, jujur dan profesional karena melaksanakan perintah Allah. Bukan berusaha mengumpulkan uang, harta, kuasa, dll dengan cara yang curang atau melanggar syariat. Bekerja dalam ridho Allah. Rejeki telah diatur dan ditetapkan oleh Allah, tugas kita bekerja sebagai amal shalih dan ibadah. Rejeki akan selalu ada selama umur kita masih ada. Ketika umur habis bersamaan habisnya rejeki kita maka disitulah datangnya ajal. Wallahu a'lam... (Muhammad Anshar Akil)

Actually, this discussion is complicated, but let's try to simplify it. Is hard work what brings us fortune? The answer is no. Fortune and hard work are on different paths, not linearly related. Fortune is God's decree (gift) like our age which has been determined. Meanwhile, hard work is a good deed or our act of worship to Allah. Working hard does not determine the amount of our fortune except what has been determined by Allah. So what's the point of us working hard? Working hard will increase our good deeds and worship but will not change the provisions of our fortune. Work hard, be honest and professional because you carry out God's orders. Not trying to collect money, property, power, etc. in a fraudulent way or violating the Shari'a. Work in the blessing of Allah. Fortune has been regulated and determined by Allah, our duty is to work as a righteous deed and act of worship. Fortune will always be there as long as we live.
